Marseille Provence Airport applies the VIGIPIRATE security system, along with all other French airports. All hand luggage is inspected before boarding. Items that are not allowed in luggage are: sharp-edged objects, cupping-edged objects, blunt scissors, and generally any object that might be used offensively. The airport recommends just one piece of hand-luggage so as to keep the security screenings short. Always anticipate delays, so give yourself enough time before boarding.

How to get there?

Shuttle Bus
Aix-en-Provence: Departures at 10 and 40 of every hour from the bus station between 4:40 and 22:40. The journey is approximately 30 minutes in length. One way fare is €7,80.

Digne: There are 4 departures daily from Digne Gare to the airport, stopping at Manosque on the way. One way fare is €9 from Manosque and €14,50 from Digne.

Le Luc, Brignoles, Saint-Maxim: There are three daily departures from Le Lus, stopping at Brinoles and Saint Maxim on the way to the airport. They are at 8:15, 11:35 and 17:05. One way fare from Le Luc is €11, Brignoles €9 and Saint-Maxim €7.

Marseille: There is service to and from the Saint-Chares Rail Station between 4:30 and 23:30. Service is every 20 minutes and takes about 25 minutes to reach the airport. One way fare is €8,50.

Salon de Provence: This route stops at Lançon (post office), La Fares post office and Rognac Train Station before heading to the airport. It runs 10 times a day at various intervals. One way fare from Salon is €3,70.

Train: There are 41 trains a day arriving at the airport from Arles, Avignon, Cavaillon, Marseille, Monpellier, Nîmes and Salon. From the Marseille Provence Airport train station, take the free shuttle bus (with proof of ticket) to the terminal. One way fares range from €3 (Berre) to €22,20 (Montpellier). From Marseille it is €4,70, Avignon €15,10 and Salon €7,80.

Taxi: To take a taxi from the city centre of Marseille to the airport costs around €40 during the daytime and €50 at night. To book a taxi to the airport, visit www.taxis-aeroport.com.

Car: To find the airport with GPS, punch in the coordinates: 43°44'21.64"N - 5°22'09.99"E. As for parking, there are 8 different car parks, some of which have different rates. For parking up to 40 minutes it costs free to €2,50. For an hour, expect to pay either €2,50 or €6. For longer parking stays, the fees are €4 to €25. The cheapest lots are P2 and P8. Long-term parking is also available to travellers who wish to park and fly.

Additional to this there is a gas station, valet service and car wash on the airport premises.
