Arriving in Newcastle upon Tyne for a holiday along the Northumberland coast? If you've booked tickets from London to Newcastle, you should also make a car hire comparison in Newcastle as well. • A little further: Hadrian's Wall is one of the most popular sites in this part of England. It's seeping in culture, heritage and history. The wall and the monuments along it are well-preserved thanks to English Heritage. You can make an entire day out of visiting the Roman Fort and museum and hike along the trail to Housesteads. Entrance to the fort is £5.
• A proper day-trip: Northumberland Coast features several beautiful coastal villages worth visiting. Warkworth and Baburgh both have castles and quaint and very traditional tea rooms, great places to warm up on a cold day. If it's hot and sunny, head to Druridge Bay for the beach, one of the best in this part of the country. Don't miss the island of Lindisfarne too!
