Suan Pakkard Palace: Also known as the Lettuce Farm Palace, this complex of 8 Thai houses was once built for royalty. Today they are used to store of riches from centuries past. Each has its own collection featuring Ban Chieng artefacts, among others. Save time for the Lacquer Pavilion.

Thai food: Thai cuisine is spicy and prides itself on targeting every food sense in the body: spicy, sour, sweet, salty and bitter. How they achieve this is tasty soups and noodle dishes is as varied as the ingredients which they use. There are more than 40 different ethnic groups in Thailand, either with their own flavour, ingredients and style. The most common herbs are cilantro, basil, mint and lemon grass, always used fresh and not dried.

Massage school: Many travellers come to Bangkok to learn, especially the coveted techniques of traditional Thai massage. Sign up for a course, the most popular is a 30h one, which typically costs 8500B (approx. £170).
