Delhi is packed with backpacker's hostels, so it's quite easy to find cheap rooms at the last minute. If you're travelling during peak time however, it's very important to book hotels in Delhi in advance, especially between October and February when the city is packed with tourists and travellers from all over the world. Hotel rooms in general tend to be pricier in Delhi compared to other cities in India. The quality also tends to lack as well.
