Basilique du Sacré-Coeur: Sitting atop the hill, this church can be seen from miles away. Built in the 1800s, there is a 230 step staircase up to the dome, from which Paris can be seen in a whole new way. Outside you can always find a congregation of buskers, artists, tourists and locals hanging around and enjoying the view.

Centre Pompidou: This is one of the most visited cultural institutions in the city. The focus here is on modernity: art, film, books and a café. This museum has rapidly changing exhibitions and displays. There are always many skateboarders and artists hanging around the premises.

La Seine: France’s second longest river runs through Paris. There are boardwalks and promenades on both sides along with little book markets here and there. There are many of the city’s most beautiful bridges spanning across this river, making it an excellent place to walk and take photographs.

The hotels on the Right Bank tend to be more luxurious and offer more in the high-class standards while hotels on the left bank tend to be smaller but richer in original and historical charm. You can easily spend 500 Euros a night to stay in the 1st, 8th and 16th arrondissements. On the Left Bank, stick to the 5th or 7th for chic hotels. You can find the budget deals in the 9th and 13th arrondissements. Be prepared for small and sometimes cramped rooms, especially in the historical hotels.
