Toronto, as Canada's largest city, is easily accessed especially from the UK. Pearson International Airport (YYZ) is the biggest airport in Canada. It has three terminals, most international flights arrive to and leave from Terminal 3 while charter and domestic flights use Terminal 1. Airlines like Air Transat, Delta Air Lines, British Airways, Air Canada and Air France operate flights to Toronto from all over the UK. Depart from London, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, even Bristol and Newcastle with a cheap Toronto airline ticket.
Air Transat and Canadian Affair are the best options for cheap plane tickets to Toronto from the UK. Being mainly charter airlines, their flight schedules can be limiting and some services are even seasonal. If you're flexible however, it's the cheapest way to get to Toronto. Air Transat departs from Birmingham, London (Gatwick, Heathrow) Edinburgh, Exeter, Glasgow, Manchester and Newcastle.
Toronto is the biggest city in Canada. It is the centre of commerce, business and is teeming with arts and culture. With 2 million people, it's an international metropolis. When planning a trip, you must search for your flights to Toronto early, at least six months in advance. Tickets from London to Toronto tend to be cheaper in the spring and fall, away from national holidays as well.
Direct flights to Toronto take 8h from London and 10h 20min with one stopover from Edinburgh.
Toronto itself isn't that big but the city is also made up of many other suburb cities, called the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Canada is a nation of immigrants, making Toronto one of the most culturally diverse cities in the world. Experiencing all that Toronto has to offer in one trip is a daunting task. Take this city district by district! The most famous sights in the city are well-worth checking out.
CN Tower: What makes the Toronto skyline so unique is the CN Tower, what used to be the tallest free standing structure in the world (now the second). You can even spot it from the air on your flight to Toronto! The views from the top of the city and Lake Ontario are unbeatable. Are you brave enough to stand on the glass floor?
Art Gallery of Ontario: The Art Gallery of Ontario, designed by Frank Gehry, is a stunning collection of modern art and holds the world's largest collection of Henry Moore sculptures. If you want to peek into the largely underestimated history of Canadian art, classical and modern, head here.
ROM: The Royal Ontario Museum was built in 1910 and displays everything from dinosaur bones, ancient Egyptian relics to the world's largest totem pole that is 100+ years old.
Kensington Market: Discover why this city is so multicultural. Head to Kensington Market to shop through vintage thrift stores, taste organic goods and join a spontaneous street party. This is by far the trendiest place to hang out for twenty-somethings.
Downtown: The downtown area is divided up into different neighbourhoods, representing where the city's immigrants settled a hundred years ago. Chinatown, Little Italy, Portugal Village, Chinatown, Little India, Koreatown... it's all here for you to enjoy. To experience the nightlife downtown, head to either Queen West or College Streets, they're lined with cool bars, great restaurants and plenty of places to dance or just enjoy a casual drink.

When we say that Toronto is culturally diverse, we mean it. More than 100 languages and dialects are spoken in the Greater Toronto area alone which can only mean one thing. Business travellers from all over the world are well-catered to at Toronto hotels. The city's hotel market ranges from budget to luxury, many of which are found within walking distance of the main sights like Harbourfront, Younge Street, St. Lawrence and others. In recent years the number of boutique hotels in century homes has dramatically increased. There are plenty of hotels downtown the choose from but for something different, consider a B&B near High Park and along the Hudson River or something more alternative in the West Queen West area.
