Qatar first to resume Dreamliner flights from London

Qatar Airways will be the first to resume Dreamliner flights from London later this month after a ruling that the aircraft are indeed safe to fly. The Boeing 787s will return to service on May 15th. The airline has already re-launched Dreamliner flights from its main hub in Doha.

Qatar’s Chicago service has officially launched

Qatar Airway’s first flight to Chicago has touched down at O’Hare International Airport, officially launching the Middle-East airline’s fourth gateway to the USA. The service will operate three times a week between Doha and Chicago, the 126th destination in the airline’s vast international network. The airline operates 24 flights a week to the USA from Doha.

Qatar Airways and JetBlue team up

Qatar Airways has just announced a new code share agreement with American budget airline JetBlue. The two airlines will share the load on flights to JFK Airport in New York City from Washington Dulles International Airport as long as the government gives approval. Passengers will receive a single ticket for their journey and won’t need to re-check their bags.

History of Qatar

The airline Qatar Airways was founded in 1993 and began operating the following year. It was owned originally by members of the royal family but was re-launched under new management in 1997. Now the airline is owned half by the state and half by private investors. Today Qatar Airways links Doha to over 80 destinations worldwide
