History of Caribbean Airlines

Caribbean Airlines was founded in September of 2006 to be the leading airline carrier in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. Operations began in 2007 after BWIA West Indies Airways closed. Caribbean Airlines took over some of BWIA old routes and gradually began adding new international destinations to their network. Currently Caribbean Airlines uses Airbus and Bombardier aircraft to operate their routes.

    • Meals: There is a complimentary meal served on all long-haul flights. Caribbean Airlines can cater to special diets with sufficient advanced notice.
    • Entertainment: Passengers can enjoy readingCaribbean Beat, the airline’s in-flight magazine. Movies are also shown on long-haul flights.
  • Baggage Allowances

    • Cabin: I piece of carry-on baggage is allowed on all Caribbean Airlines flights. It may not weigh more than 7 kg or be larger than 119 cm (length + width + height).
    • Checked: Passengers may check 2 pieces of luggage for free. Each may not be heavier than 23 kg or be larger than 157 cm (length + width + height).
    • Excess: Excess baggage is accepted on a standby basis only. Passengers should be aware that oversized bags are not accepted. There is a fee of $150 US to check an additional bag. On domestic flights the fee is TT$3.00 per excess kilo.
