Benguela: This city’s past isn’t a pretty one. Some think as many as 4 million slaves were shipped out of this city’s port. Today this city has some interesting Portuguese buildings and turquoise waters that are famous for sport fishing.
Luanda: There is plenty to see and do in the Angola capital. The National Museum of Slavery is a must-visit while you’re here, especially if you’ve already been to Benguela. There are some pretty churches from the 1600s here as well: Igreja do Carmo and Igreja da Nazare.
