Dusseldorf is known around Europe as being party central. In the city centre alone there are more than 250 pubs, restaurants and bars. But that's not all there is to this gorgeous city. There are a host of museums, theatres and exhibitions to enjoy as well.
Burgplatz: Located in the old town next to the Rhine, this is the spot where the Earls of Berg castle once stood. After the castle, a Baroque palace stood here which was burned. All that is left is a tower which today houses a navigation museum. From the top, enjoy the views of the ships passing by on the Rhine while on holidays in Dusseldorf.
Riverside promenade: The promenades on the banks of the Rhine are some of the most beautiful in all of Germany, especially the right side where the sun shines all day long in the summer. The promenade goes from Parliament past the Rathausufer and the Tonhalle all the way to Rhine-Park.
Media Harbour: This is perhaps the most modern attraction in Dusseldorf, the harbour area is an eclectic mix of historic buildings and new modern ones, some designed by Frank O. Gehry.
