Experience Lahore: what to see, what to do
Lahore is the capital of Pakistan's Punjab region and is without a doubt the country's culture capital with palaces, forts, gardens and markets to discover. Colonial gothic architecture from the British Raj still line the city's dusty streets, often packed with rickshaws, cars and bicycles. This is a city you won't soon forget!
Essentials in Lahore
Lahore Fort: The fort is Lahore's most popular attraction and an UNESCO site. It was the Mughals imperial residence, followed by the Sikhs. Today there is a small museum as well as the tomb of a Sikh ruler.
Old city bazaars: For shopping, there is nothing like browsing a Pakistani bazaar. The tiny alleys are crowded but you can buy some amazing souvenirs, crockery, incense and treasures here! Ichra Bazaar is famous for its silks, cottons and printed fabrics. Panorama on Mall Road is great for clothing and Liberty Bazaar is good for handicrafts.
Cricket: Like its Indian neighbours, Pakistanis love cricket with a passion. The best place to catch a game is at Gadaffi Stadium which hosts many international teams. It's definitely a unique experience!

If you'd like to be close to all the historic sights and attractions, book a hotel in Lahore's old town. This area lacks evening entertainment though. Most of the city's international chain hotels are located along Mall Road. Gulberg and Defense are also popular for the great restaurants and shopping.
