Africa is calling! Heading to the beautiful country of Malawi for a holiday? Start your trip with cheap flights to Malawi onboard Ethiopian Airlines, KLM or Kenya Airways from London. Most flights from the UK touch down at Malawi's largest airport in Lilongwe (LLE).
Malawi is pretty temperate considering it's location and the hottest time of the year is fall, coincidentally the rainiest as well. Book your flights to Malawi 6 months in advance and plan to visit from May till July.
Flights to Malawi take around 16 hours with a stopover from London.
Home to one of Africa's largest lakes, the most welcoming people you'll ever find and some gorgeous landscapes and cultural traditions. Malawi's people are friendly, vibrant and colourful and its museums are definitely worth checking out.
Cape Maclear: If it's a beach holiday you're after, head to Cape Maclear, a small fishing village at the tip of a peninsula that juts out into the lake. The crystal clear waters are a call from heaven and the beaches are sandy and golden.
Liwonde National Park: Want to go on a safari? This park is more than five hundred square kilometres large and is known for its remarkable wildlife, from hippos to eagles.
Zomba: There is something pretty incredible about finding fine British architecture in the middle of Africa. Zomba nods back to the days of British colonialism and is famous for its colonial architecture and the Zomba Plateau which rises to the west of the city. The handicraft market is the perfect place to shop for souvenirs.

If you're used to Western-standard hotels, you won't be disappointed by what's on offer in Blantyre, Lilongqe, Zomba and Mzuzu. The hotels in Malawi's lakeshore are also very special and cater to international tourists. 5-star resorts and hotels also tend to charge Western prices.
