There's a very good reason why Nairobi is the safari capital of Africa. The best of Africa is right at its doorstep whether you want to go on a safari of cultural treasures or see some of the world's most amazing wildlife.
Nairobi National Park: Large herds of zebra, buffalo, lion, giraffe, hippo and cheetah live here, not to mention 400+ species of birds. Take the safari walk to learn about animal and habitat conservation and don't miss a visit to the park's animal orphanage.
Karen Blixen Museum: For culture and history, this is a must-visit museum in Nairobi. The museum is based on Blixen's book "Out of Africa" and is housed in the author's home. It's located on the outskirts of the city though, so a Nairobi car hire is best to reach it.
Kazuri Beads: For memorable souvenirs, visit the bead shop right next to the Karen Blixen Museum. It was started in the 1970s by English women in an effort to provide a sustainable income to local women. They create beautiful jewellery out of clay that is sourced from Mount Kenya.
