This modern Cypriot city is divided in two, the upper half is located up a steep hill and is the commercial district while the lower half of the city is where you'll find the main archaeological treasures. Culture, wine, food and beaches are waiting for you in Cyprus when you spend your holidays in Paphos.
Kato: Tourists will find themselves spending most of their time in the lower Kato Paphos which also lies conveniently along the beach. These sands have been enjoyed by travellers long before the Brits discovered this place.
Paphos Mosaics: This collection of colourful mosaics is also in the Paphos archaeological site, just next to the Agora. It was found during the 1960s by accident and after some excavation, construction workers discovered the hidden floor of a large (likely very wealthy) residence.
Aphrodite's Cultural Route: It's no mystery why the Cypriots believe that their island is the home to Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of beauty and love. Follow her trail from Paphos to Petra Tou Romiou with your Paphos car hire. Aphrodite's Rock, to her Bath along the northern coast of the Akamas peninsula.
