Slovenia is calling! Search for cheap flights to Slovenia's main international airport, Ljubljana International Airport (LJU) which is serviced by national airline carrier Adria Airways. For the cheapest flights into Slovenia though, stick to low cost airlines. EasyJet flies to Ljubljana from Stansted.
Slovenia is primarily a summer destination when the days are mildly warm, perfect for city breaks or hiking in the Alps. Winters tend to be very cold and put a definite damper on tourism. Booking your flights 3 months in advance should be early enough to find good deals for your holiday in Slovenia.
Flights to Slovenia take at least 4 hours with 1 stopover from London.
WIth the Alps to the north and the Adriatic Sea to the west and green rolling hills in the south , Slovenia is a treat to visit smack dab in central Europe. Apart from the stunning scenery, cities like Ljubljana and Maribor and romantic Lake Bled make it a perfect destination.
Ljubljana: Considerably small for a European capital, Ljubljana is more about wandering and experiencing than crossing famous landmarks off your traveller's checklist. City life happens on the bridges, riverbanks and in the city's old quarter.
Lake Bled: This area is helplessly romantic with great access to Triglav National Park. The town is famous for the little white church on a small island in the middle of the lake and the castle which overlooks it from the Julien Alps.
Piran: Also known as Pirano in Italian, Piran is a gorgeous Venetian port on Slovenia's Coast and Karst region. It's arguably the most beautiful seaside down in the country with some stunning Venetian architecture from the 14th to 18th centuries.
