Experience Vanuatu: what to see, what to do
Vanuatu encompasses 83 islands in the Pacific Ocean, north of New Zealand. The most popular islands to visit are Efate, where Port-Vila is located and Espiritu Santo where Luganville is. But don’t forget the others, here are our recommendations.
Essentials in Vanuatu
Port-Vila: Port-Vila is all about the harbours, inlets, lagoons and islets. The cafe scene is remarkable and it’s so easy to be here, hopping from one beach to the next, from one coffee shop to the next. Lap it all up.
Mount Yasur: This volcano dominates the landscape and if you want to go up to the top, you’re going to need a horse. Arrange the tour in Port-Vila and beware not to go up to the very top when the volcano is reaching levels 3 or 4.
Santo: Called the Capital of Adventure for a reason, Santo has it all from caves to coconut plantations, raging rivers and volcanic mountain peaks. There are some interesting villages to visit, some which are totally off the grid and still live by ancient traditions.
