Zanzibar is an enchanting place and packs a lot in to a very small space. The island is only 90km long and 30km wide! As an important stop along the Spice Trail , take a tour to see how anise and saffron are grown. Stone Town's UNESCO sights will charm and if you're looking for some fabulous beaches, Kwenda will have something for you!
Stone Town: The entire capital of Zanzibar has been declared an UNESCO sight and is one of the most unique cities in the world with a mix of Moorish, Middle Eastern, Indian and African architecture, culture and traditions. You could spend your entire trip drinking tea and exploring the city's labyrinth streets.
East Beaches: The beaches on the eastern part of the island are the most popular with their white sands and turquoise waters. The Indian Ocean is warm almost year-round and it's a great place to learn how to scuba dive.
Spice Tours: Zanzibar is one of the few places in the world where saffron is produced, something that has made Zanzibar an essential stop on the Spice Trade for centuries. Cardamon, ginger, cloves and nutmeg are also grown here. Take a tour around the island and sample some of the word's most famous spices.

There is only one thing that Zanzibar lacks when it comes to accommodation: cheap hotels. The cheapest hotels in Zanzibar are located in Stone Town, and if you find anything cheaper than £20 a night, you know you're compromising on quality, cleanliness and location. During peak season it's essential to book your hotels in advance.
