Want to surf? Head to Fistral Beach, a major surf spot in Newquay which is about 750m long. You can rent equipment from the British Surfing Association on the north side of the bay. Pack a lunch, you'll have a hard time wanting to get out of the water! Not into surfing? Don't worry, there are sand dunes to play on and great swimming here as well.
Penzance is a culture hot spot, too often over-looked on the tourist circuit. Check out the Regency and Georgian architecture on the high street and the art deco Jubilee Pool. There are a number of interesting architectural gems and some great market shopping as well! Looking for pirates, we're not sure if you'll find them but searching is quite fun!
Land's End is the most south-western point in England and makes a great day trip! You can reach it by car very easily, just count on paying £2 for parking once you arrive. Walk along the coast and explore Sennen Cove. Watch out, there is a really touristy theme park there as well which is a huge rip-off, not worth adding to your holiday in Newquay itinerary unless you're really into that kind of thing.
