Fans of Ailuropoda Melanoleuca listen up! The Chinese Chengdu Panda Base is on the look out for new ambassadors. Three winners will receive the experience of a lifetime: spend one year hanging out with the cuddliest black and white bears around and have the honour of calling themselves Pambassadors.
Like Pandas and don’t have any set plans for the next few months? This could be your chance. There is still time to sign-up to be the next Panda Ambassador. The Chengdu Panda Base and the international conservation organisation WildAid are looking for three candidates to spend time with these lazy giants on a “Global Panda Conservation Tour” to promote endangered animal protection around the world.
PandaQuest
How it works: Make your submission online using the PandaQuest Facebook page. There are a few rounds of eliminations to get the finalists and if you’re chosen then you’ll have the chance to fly to Chengdu Panda Base to compete in the PandaQuest finals. The winners of course will be crowned as the new “Pambassadors” and attend some fancy ceremonies and then… here comes the best part… receive US$20,000 to spend on endangered animal protection plans over the next year and take-off on a global tour.
Do you have what it takes to be a Pambassador?
Organisers of this global initiative are looking for young people who are passionate about the protection of pandas. Panda-fans who know the importance of nature conservation and have a strong sense of social responsibility.
Winners will need to be able to dedicate at least 6 months to the Global Panda Conversation Tour which will take Pambassadors through Asia, the Americas and Europe to visit zoos with pandas. This is just a taste of what your tour could look like: Chiang Mai, Tokyo, Edinburgh, Vienna, St-Aigan, Madrid, Atlanta in the USA, Mexico City, Adelaide in Australia, Hong Kong, Macao, Taipei and finally flights to Chengdu bring you to your final destination. You’ll spend approximately two weeks in each destination… talk about a great RTW trip and all for the love of pandas.
