KL for all your senses
Sight: Check out the city from a bird’s eye view. Head to the top of the Petronas Twin Towers which were the world’s tallest skyscrapers until 2004. If you easily get vertigo, you might want to skip the ride to the top of the tower.
Taste: Dine out on the street, it’s where the real flavours of the culture are simmering. Head down Petaling Street and follow your nose. Malay-style burgers, hokkien noodles, curry, lamb and seafood dishes in every flavour will certainly satisfy.
Hearing: The KL music scene is a mish-mash of global influences so don’t hesitate to pick up a couple albums from a street market before heading home.
Touch: Tradition Malay massages will help you leave your worries at the door… unwind with scents of lemongrass, kaffir lime and betel leaves, sweet roses and pandanus. Massages are accompanied by herbal baths, cream wraps and hot river stone treatments.
Smell: Durian. You will love it or hate it, but many Westerners who aren’t accustomed to the powerful “stench” won’t likely turn their noses in this fruits direction.
