The Michelin Guide has released the latest additions to its list, with 20 UK based restaurants being awarded a prestigious Michelin star.
The news brings the total number of restaurants in the UK to hold at least one Michelin star up to 163. 18 restaurants have been added to the list of those holding one Michelin star in the UK, while two restaurants were able to join the ranks of those holding multiple stars: The Fat Duck in Berkshire now holds three, while Durham’s The Raby Hunt holds two.
Among the restaurants added to the list were London’s The Ritz Restaurant and the city’s oldest Indian restaurant, Veeraswamy. Across the rest of the country, the Lake District saw two new additions to the list, with the Forest Side and Gilpin Hotel each awarded one Michelin star.
Two pubs also made the cut: The Wild Rabbit in Oxfordshire and the Crown in Berkshire gained one Michelin star each.
