Tourism operators in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire were recognized at an industry awards ceremony on Friday night.

The awards ceremony, named Aberdeen City and Shire Tourism Awards, took place at Ardoe House Hotel and Spa.

In total 14 organisations and individuals were acknowledged. For the third year, Meldrum Country House Hotel was named the most hospital hotel, while Banchory Lodge Hotel and Glendavan House also kept their titles for the second year running, declared as best restaurant and most hospitable B&B respectively.

Steve Harris, chief executive of VisitAberdeen, was awarded one of the main honours – the Regional Ambassador award. Harris has been at the forefront of tourism promotion for Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire since VisitAberdeen was launched in 2013.
