Before going any further, it’s worth to note that Berlin is one of the easiest cities to get to from London. It is served by several low cost airlines like easyJet, Ryanair, airberlin… with cheap flights to Berlin that take off from London and other UK departure cities. So there’s really no excuses not to plan a trip to Berlin.

Watergate: the temple of electro

This is the place to be on Wednesday nights after midnight. Kreuzberg hipsters gather here, surrounded by tourist hipsters from all over Europe. It’s not exactly a rooftop but there is an outdoor terrace with a beautiful view of the River Spree and the majestic Oberbaumbrücke. The music is techno-house. In any case, it is one of the best clubs in Berlin.

House of Weekend: tourists love this place

While the name might not be that punchy, Weekend is one of the most fashionable clubs in Berlin. It’s on the 12th and 15th floors of an old tower block from the Soviet era, the Haus Des Reisens in Alexanderplatz. Being right in the middle of the city, the views are spectacular, especially of the city’s famous TV tower. It’s open Thursday to Sunday and plays techno and house music.

Panorama Punkt

This is not a bar but it does offer one of the most beautiful views over the city of Berlin. It’s located in Potsdamer Platz, in the Kollhoff Tower. You can go up to the top in a lift, the fastest lift in Europe! 20 seconds later and you are already at the 24th floor with the German capital at your feet. It’s open daily from 10am to 8pm.

Solar: for a splurge night out

Leather seats and flavourful cocktails are on the menu. Just be sure to take a look at the price list before you order… If you’re on a budget, a beer is always a good choice, especially in Germany!

40 seconds: RnB, soul and funk

The views of the Sony Centre all lit up at night, the Philharmonic Orchestra and the new Nationalgalerie are enough to make your jaw drop. The club itself is elegant with marble floors, cocktail bar. There are three terraces.
