Budding Picassos might want to stick their paintbrushes in their back pocket and hop on cheap flights to Beijing in time for the metropolis’s annual art fair.
The 13th Beijing International Art Exposition begins on August 19th at the China World Trade Center and runs until the 23rd, offering plenty of chances for those of us talented with an easel to start thinking about getting ready.
It claims to attract art lovers and experts – including gallery owners and agencies – from all over the world and includes meetings with investors and dealers, as well as simpler opportunities to admire some of the masterpieces on display.
And if you’re lucky enough to have the resources for collecting artwork for your home or business, you might want to come with plenty of cash as many of the works are for sale.
Why not pop your palette in your suitcase and start searching for Beijing flights now?
Of course, many arty types might already be in the city due to last weekend’s (July 30th) beginning of The 48 Hour Film Project, a worldwide initiative that made its stop in Beijing recently to challenge filmmakers to create, direct and shoot a movie in just two days.
