Australia has some pretty mega plans for a pretty mega hotel, which will make it the biggest in the world once completed.
The Izmailovo is, to date, the biggest hotel in the world. It’s located in Moscow and has 7,500 rooms. Australia plans to beat that with a new hotel project called the Great Barrier Reef Resort, which will have the same number of rooms, but more facilities for guests.
Built on a piece of land more than 300 hectares in size, the complex with include a 6-star resort as well as a casino and a giant aquarium. It will be located on the northeastern tip of Australia in Cairns. As the name suggests, the resort will be the perfect spot for travellers to explore the Great Barrier Reef, one of the seven natural wonders of the world.
