Capturing that perfect shot takes skill, a sense of adventure and a quick finger on the shutter. It’s a hunt that travel photographers live for. Previous winners of the Travel Photographer of the Year Award are now on display at the Royal Geographical Society in Kensington, an exhibition not to be missed in London this summer.
Every year the Travel Photographer of the Year (TPOTY) competition attracts thousands of entries from around the world. Their photos depict everything from the natural world, untameable landscapes, human cultures and wildlife in incredible detail. The competition for 2013 is now open but to celebrate the award’s previous winners the Royal Geographical Society in Kensington is running a summer exhibition.
Here we have handpicked only a select few to show, just as a taste of what awaits at the Society exhibition while you’re on holidays in London. These photos were taking by talented photographers but that doesn’t mean they’re all professionals. Think you’ve got what it takes to win Travel Photographer of the Year? Entries can be made online anytime before October 1st, 2013.
