If you’re planning a post-holiday vacation, then why not head to Vienna, you certainly won’t be disappointed if you’re looking for some wintery fun. It’s one of the most beautiful cities in Europe (no offence to Europe’s other elegant capitals), especially when everything is covered in white powdery snow.
From January 20th to March 6th, 2011 Vienna locals and travellers alike will be lacing up their skates, many saying they look forward to skating every winter. Glide along with the kitschy disco music playing in the background around a track more than 600m long with your sweetheart in hand or your family in tow.
Located right in front of City Hall, the rink is lit up beautifully, perfect for daytime and night time skating. How much does it cost? Nothing! The rink is open from 9:00 am until 10:00 pm and you can rent skates right there. Drinks (hot and cold) as well as Austrian treats are available as well. If you have a Vienna Pass, you get a 10% discount on skate rentals.
