Ulan Batar: Most all visitors will start in the capital when they arrive on a trip to Mongolia. There is plenty to see in the capital from beautiful monasteries to the Natural History Museum and Sukhbaatar Square.

Accommodation in Mongolia
The best place for Western-style hotels in Mongolia is in Ulan Batar but you can also expect Western prices. There are a number of nice guesthouses but they are usually booked up during the summer tourist season. Most all of the land outside of towns and cities is publicly owned which means you can camp pretty much anywhere!
