Take off from London Heathrow to Miami for £460 (return, all taxes included) with United Airlines just in time to catch the annual Art Basel in Miami Beach which runs from December 6th to the 9th. It’s the most prestigious art show in the entire continent showcasing 200+ of the world’s best up and coming contemporary artists.
The Miami Beach Art Basel is the event of the year if you’re involved in the contemporary art scene. It’s the sister festival to Switzerland’s annual Art Basel and has been going on for 11 years straight. The festival events take place in Miami’s trendiest neighbourhoods like South Beach, Wynwood and the Design District. If you’re looking for a little winter sun and a big dose of art and culture then Miami in December is a natural choice!
This is no small-game exhibition either. Last year more than 50,000 people visited the festival. One third of which were visitors from abroad.

- Tickets: $42 for a one-day ticket, $90 for a permanent pass, $29 for an evening ticket (entrance after 4pm)
Don’t miss the Art Video Nights in SoundScape Park at the New World Centre. These outdoor movies screenings are free to attend, just remember to bring some snacks and your own lawn chairs or blankets. There are films showing nightly from December 5th to December 7th.
