Fans of the hit period drama Downton Abbey will be able to get a taste of the aristocrat life by spending a weekend at the luxurious Highclere Castle where the drama is filmed.
The drama, which follows the lives of residents both above stairs and below them, has had us enthralled since 2010 and it continues to do with the hopes of another season. The real owners of Highclere Castle, the Carnavon family, have decided to open a guest lodge on the estate to allow for short stays.
It will be called London Lodge and it will be set in two newly-restored building that date from 1840 and are located near the estates Georgian gatehouse. Both properties sleep two and include a bedroom, dressing room, sitting room, little kitchen and a wood-burning stove to keep it cosy in winter.
Spring dates have already been booked but more autumn and winter dates will be added.
