Milan has become the latest place to crack down on selfie sticks, banning them throughout the city until mid-August.
Love ’em or hate ’em, selfie sticks have managed to cause a fair amount of controversy since they were first introduced. The list of places at which they’re banned is constantly growing; currently, they’re forbidden at Wimbledon, Disney World and The National Gallery in London to name but a few.
Now, Milan has joined the list, banning selfie sticks until mid-August in a bid to reduce litter and anti-social behaviour. The new regulations also ban “holding, carrying, leaving on the ground, disposing of, or receiving any kind of glass bottles or containers, cans”.
The rules apply to everyone, visitor or local, and while they’re currently set to be in place until August 13, 2017, they could be extended if needed according to The Local.
