International tourist arrivals in Thailand are expected to hit a record number of 32 million in 2016 according to the Tourism minister.
In 2015 there was an estimated 29.88 million international people who took a flight to Thailand, and around 60-70% of 2016’s predicted tourists will be repeat visitors. People from China flock to Thailand, around 8 million of them in 2015, meaning they make up the majority of Thailand’s international tourists.
Overall tourism revenue is predicted at 2.3 trillion baht, up from 2.2 trillion baht last year (these figures include domestic travellers).
