Gap years can happen any time, between school years or at a mid-career melt-down… there’s no better time than the present to take a break from the 9-5 and travel. #TTOT asked the Twitter community about their gap year experiences, here’s what they had to say.
Q2 via @Oysterworldwide: What experience did you have on a gap year that you would never have anywhere else?
@InroadsIreland: Doing yoga in the Australian outback at sunrise – what a way to start the day!
@sebaboerner: Swam with whales & sharks, ate snake & kangaroo, cuddled with koalas… too many things I couldn’t do in Europe! It’s all about the adventure.
@cougjosh: Haven’t gap yeared yet, but #travel is all about seeing and experiencing. Pushing boundaries expands your comfort zone = growth
@MalloryOnTravel: What was the question again? #TTOT Oh yeah great experience….. does camping on a 30 pitch big wall 3000 ft up count as one?
@LifeOutofaSuitc: You know you are immersed when you dream in a different language!
@onURwaytravel: A European whirlwind romance!!! Don’t think that will happen again!!! The Eiffel tower sure does blossom romance!!!
@AnilaBabla: #TToT Getting up at 5am for a bus/train/roof-rack and then realising you’ve had 3,546 adventures before 11am…
@hostelbookers: Sitting in a field in the pitch black, sharing ghost stories with aboriginals.
@gapyearescape: Diving with Great Whites. Not many sharks in London except the bankers. 😉
@Inga_Ros: Gap year? You mean it´s not a gap life?
Have you ever taken a gap year? Where did you go and what were some of your most memorable experiences?
