American photographer, Jon Cornforth, 42, was shooting six-feet away from the huge walrus when the animal ‘tusk butted’ him.

Cornforth captured rare footage and pictures of the beautiful toothy carnivore in Norway, swimming and socialising in its natural habitat.

Cornforth wanted to get close as possible – without causing stress to the animal – to shoot really intimate photos of their lives.

At one moment, when he was in the water, the animal darted towards him and attempted to butt him with its tusks. Cornforth was unharmed and is more than happy with his work as a result of his trip.

If you’ve booked cheap flights to Norway, be sure to keep your distance from these huge creatures!
