Switzerland is in the spotlight! While Geneva was awarded best destination for “city breaks” in Europe, Zurich Airport was chosen as the best airline on the Continent.
After Istanbul, London and Lisbon, it’s Geneva’s turn to win the “Oscar” for best destination for a “city break” at the World Travel Awards. Geneva beat out Paris, London, Madrid and Rome for the title.
While it’s true that Geneva has a reputation for favouring business tourism, it is undeniable that the city of Calvin offers visitors a perfect place to escape for a weekend. It’s well stocked with cultural institutions, shopping and nature.
At the same ceremony, Zurich Airport was also recognised for its high-quality services and the attention it pays to its passengers. The airport won the award for best airport in Europe.
