Lufthansa will be one of the first European airline to introduce Wi-Fi on short and medium haul flights.
A lot of airlines offer broadband on long-haul services, but it is still quite rare to find the same service on short-haul flights. Norwegian is the only European airline to offer short haul Wi-Fi.
On the flights passengers will be able to update their social media, send messages and browse the internet with internet speed and quality that is as good as their home connection. However, services such as Skype, Facetime and calls will be banned in order to maintain peace of the plane.
A price for the service has not yet been agreed upon.
