It’s been done before, a LEGO model of the Queen but LEGOLAND Windsor has taken it all a step further. To celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation anniversary, a special model is on display including a replica of the Crown Jewels. LEGOLAND Windsor is a must-trip this year!

This month a special attraction will open at LEGOLAND Windsor, just in time for the 60th anniversary of the Coronation of the Queen. The theme park will present a remarkably small model of Queen Elizabeth II, but most remarkable of all will be her headpiece.

The 10cm-tall Queen will wear a real silver crown that is encrusted with diamonds. The 48-diamond creation is the work of iconic British jewellery designer Dinny Hall which has had many a famous clients including Prince William. This 1.5cm crown will certainly be fit for Her Majesty!

The Queen will be on display at LEGOLAND Windsor this weekend, May 25th to 27th alongside models of the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry on the balcony of a model Buckingham Palace. Don’t worry if you can’t make flights to London for this bank holiday. The display will travel to LEGOLAND Discovery Centre in Manchester for exhibition May 31st to June 2nd.

There’s more to see at LEGOLAND than just a model of the Queen. Since last year more than 2,000 Star Wars models have been on display complete with special light effects and sound effects. Windsor is just a hop, skip and jump away from London and makes a perfect day trip from the capital.

Do you remember your LEGO creations from when you were small? What was your favourite thing to build?
