London to New York is already a busy transatlantic flight route. Now, Virgin Atlantic is hoping to make the Man-Fran route just as popular as the airline introduces new flights from northern England to California.
The direct flights, which began last week, will take just 11h 20m, taking out the extra time spent connecting at airports along the way and making it even easier to reach the Californian city from Manchester. The move is partially aimed at those doing business in both cities, however could also prove popular with those hoping to catch a little bit of Californian sunshine on their holidays.
The new route is part of Virgin’s expansion from Manchester: the airline has also launched flights to Boston from the North West, and New York is set to follow in May.
NY-Lon is already a popular route for travelers thanks to regular departures, and Virgin hopes to make MAN-FRAN just as well used.
