The US President Barack Obama told guests at the NATO reception in Wales that he will encourage people in the US to come and visit Wales.
The American president is visiting Wales in order to take part in the NATO Wales summit and he has been pleasantly surprised by the landscape and atmosphere in the country. He was heard praising the country’s “extraordinary beauty, wonderful people and great hospitality” at a reception being hosted by Prince Charles at Celtic Manor.
The president met with Prince Charles at a reception to promote Wales and its to say thank you to its community for hosting the summit. Also in attendance was Prime Minister David Cameron and Wales’ First Minister Carwyn Jones as well as a number of other NATO dignitaries.
It is the first time for a US president to visit the country and his remarks will no doubt have a significant impact on tourism to Wales from overseas.
