Ryanair plans to simplify their bag fees could end up costing passengers more during peak travel. The changes, announced yesterday, the low-cost carrier will reduce the number of different bag fees from 108 to just six!
Currently Ryanair’s luggage charges vary from £20 (15kg bag low season) to £40-50 (20kg bag in high season per flight.
But under the new system Ryanair will charge a fixed fee, most likely £30 for all bags (including 20kg). Although some passengers will indeed benefit from the shift in policy, many budget focused travellers will not.
People who travel off peak will feel the effects of the changes most.
The changes are the airlines latest attempt to shake off its reputation of bad customer services and hidden fees.
