In a bid to make things easier for Brits applying for passports, photos taken on mobile phones will now be accepted.

Travelers will be able to use photos taken on their mobile phones when applying for a passport in Britain, according to new rules from the Home Office – but selfies won’t be accepted.

The option is only open to those hoping to renew their passports and the usual rules for passport photos will need to be adhered to, including no smiling.

More information on exactly what the rules are for a passport photo can be found here. What do you think of the new move?
