Downton fans will have no trouble planning their summers, especially when they catch wind of this new cruise heading down the River Thames, stopping at Highclere Castle along the way.
Downton Abbey fans hoping to soak up a little more of the show before it leaves our television screens forever this year, will want to hop aboard this new small luxury river cruise that travels along the River Thames from Hampton Court to Oxford, operated by Barge Lady Cruises.
The seven-day cruise includes stops at a few Downton Abbey pilgrimage sites like the seat of the Crawley family, which features a 5,000-acre estate and beautiful Jacobethan house. The cruise also stops at Runnymede, where King John signed the Magna Carta; Cliveden and Windsor Castle.
The barge on which this trip takes place only has capacity for 8 guests but each room is an en suite, and the barge has its own hot tub. Trips take place this summer from July 19-25, August 30-September 5 and September 6-12 and are not for the budget travellers among us. Trip prices start at £3,384 per person!
Fans might also want to spend the night at Downton Abbey, in one of the castle’s cottages.
