The room rates are totally normal for a hotel in this area along the north coast of Wales. It’s a stone’s throw from the beach in Llandudno and costs £74 a night. But there’s something different about this hotel: feedback for Lawton Court is so positive that the 4-star hotel was recently named one of the “best in the world” by TripAdvisor in its World Top 10 Bargain Hotels category.
It received top place in that category and also second place in the World’s Top 10 Small Hotels category and 4th place in the world for service. So what does Lawton Court have going for it?
“We had a wonderful time at this hotel, the place is spotless, breakfast amazing 10 out of 10. As for service I would say 12/10, we cannot wait to come back.”
Many reviewers commented on the hotels friendly and relaxed owners who go “above and beyond” guests’ expectations. The hotel also offers free parking (always a plus if you rent a car) and an “honesty bar” where guests can pour their own drinks if they write down their room number and drink order.
“The best hotel we have ever stayed in, from day one Scott made us feel at home with his friendly sense of humour. The food was amazing with a full English plus extra and the service brilliant. The rooms are lovely and clean with a sea view.”
