The world’s favourite traveller and adventurer is taking to the skies thanks to Moulinsart and Brussels Airlines. An Airbus A320 has been decked out in a brand new livery featuring Tintin and his faithful companion Snowy.
It’s only fitting that Tintin, a Belgian cartoon character, be painted on the side of a Brussels Airlines aircraft. The two companies have been working for months on the unique creative project, using original drawings from Hergé as inspiration.
It was a secret project but the final product has now been revealed, showing a 37-metre long black shark (based on Professor Calculus’ shark submarine) from the Tintin adventure, Red Rackman’s treasure.
The airline hopes to promote Belgium culture and talent to the world, and Tintin couldn’t be a more perfect travel partner for the airline. Tintin’s creator, Hergé, was fascinated by planes, also Tintin’s favourite mode of transportation.
The paint job took a total of 1,500 hours. What do you think of the transformation?
