A new viewing deck has opened on the 148th floor of the Burj Khalifa, so far the world’s highest observation deck open to visitors. The ticket to go up though, doesn’t come cheap!
Visitors are offered a spectacular view of Dubai and its surroundings from 555 meters above the ground in the Burj Khalifa. The new attraction is on the 184th floor of the world’s tallest building, 24 floors highest than its predecessor. Prior to this one opening, the highest observation deck was the Canton Tower, at 488 metres.
Trips to the top of the building don’t come without a price. A ticket up to the viewing deck will set you back 400 Dirham (approx. £68), if you book in advance. If you turn up on the day, tickets cost 500 Dirham (£85). Once at the top, visitors can listen to an audio guide which explains the story of how the Burj Khalifa was construction. And in case you don’t feel you’ve already spent enough money on the experience and your flights to Dubai, there are three shopping boutiques for your spending pleasure.
Approximately 1.9 million people visited the Burj Khalifa’s lower observation deck in 2013, a figure the city hopes will increase for its new upper deck.
