“World’s tallest hotel” is a term you’d think would be associated with a place like Dubai, not a tiny village in the Swiss Alps. Plans for the world’s tallest hotel, and western Europe’s called building are nothing but controversial.
The skyscraper would stand 381 metres tall, and be made of reflective glass, making it appear invisible as it reflects the stunning scenery around it. The tower is planned to be completed by 2019 and will be the same height as the Empire State Building in New York City.
As you can imagine, once this luxury hotel and spa is completed, the views of the landscape will be unbelievable and reason enough for travellers to book flights to Zurich to see it. The complex will include 107 guest rooms and suites, restaurants, a ballroom, gallery, library, gym, pool and business centre.
The building still has to be put to a public vote before planning permission can be granted, so let’s see if Vals really gets its super-hotel or not.
