British Airways has announced it will be launched brand new direct flights to Lima, the capital of Peru.

Next year BA is planning some pretty big new routes. Just after the airline announced it would be adding direct flights to Costa Rica to its network, it also confirmed that flights to Lima would also launch next spring. Flights will officially take off from London to the Peruvian capital starting May 4th, 2016.

Flights will depart from London Gatwick Airport throughout the summer months on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. From October, the service will be reduced to two times a week. It’s about time BA launched this route. There hasn’t been a direct flight between Lima and the UK since 1982!

The airline is hoping tourists and travellers will be enticed to hop over to Peru for its incredible ancient sights. Plus, where else can you stay in a hotel hanging 400 feet above the ground?
