For the fourth year in a row, eDreams is handing out accolades for the Best Airports in the World. They’ve come up with a list of Top 10 according to different categories, from cleanliness to sign clarity. Who came out on top?

eDreams collected more than 18,000 reviews this year from travellers around the world to come up with the top airports in the world. Scores were based on reviews given throughout the year, looking at everything in the airport like efficiency of airport security, cleanliness, ambiance, atmosphere and sign clarity, among others. This year the top spot goes to Dusseldorf Airport (DUS) with a score of 4.52.

Close behind was San Francisco Airport with a score of 4.50. Here’s the round-up of the top ten airports around the world according to eDreams:

  1. Dusseldorf Airport (DUS)
  2. San Francisco Airport (SFO)
  3. Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN)
  4. Narita International Airport (NRT)
  5. Changi International Airport (SIN)
  6. Helsinki-Vantaa Airport (HEL)
  7. P.E. Trudeau International Airport (YUL)
  8. Bangkok International Airport (BKK)
  9. Franz-Josef Strauss Airport (MUC)
  10. Zurich Airport (ZRH)

While we’re all dreaming about booking flights to Dusseldorf to check out the airport, how about the airport that didn’t do so well. Which was the worst? At the very bottom of the list was Rio de Janeiro International Airport (GIG) with a score of 2.93! Yikes. Berlin’s Schönefeld Airport but we hope the German capital can redeem itself with a new airport soon.
