Ryanair is making a stand against drunk and rowdy travellers by banning duty free alcohol on its flights between the UK and party central Ibiza.

The low cost giant is hoping this move will reduce incidences of rowdy behaviour at airports and on its flights to Ibiza from the UK and back again.  Airline staff will be searching passengers before boarding to ensure no one is carrying alcohol with them.

Passengers found trying to hide alcohol or who show any signs of anti-social behaviour will be denied boarding without any refund or compensation. A Ryanair spokesperson explains further,

“Those who have purchased duty free alcohol will be asked to either place their purchases in their cabin baggage and into the hold at the boarding gate, or leave their purchases behind. The comfort and safety of our customers and crew is our number one priority.”

The point being, if you’re travelling to Ibiza for party season, make sure you stow your booze below and skip the duty-free deals on your way to the boarding gate.
