Google Street View isn’t just sticking to highways anymore. It recently took a trip down the Danube River and now, it’s documented Loch Ness, in Scotland’s north, reigniting the Loch Ness Monster search.

The search for the Loch Ness Monster has been going on for as long as you can imagine and now Google has joined in the search for Scotland’s most legendary creature. With top-of-the-line camera equipment, divers and local experts, the Google Street View Team arrived at Loch Ness ready for anything.

The team captured images of the loch, both above and below the water in hopes of spotting the creature, in addition to offering new dimensions to Street View users who want to admire the beauty of the Highlands. But could Google have also captured a glimpse of the Loch Ness Monster?

Here’s the shot that is raising questions, even at Google HQ:

What do you think? Could this be the Loch Ness Monster? Plenty of travellers will be heading north on flights to Inverness to discover the Highlands this summer, and scan the loch for sightings of Nessie.
